AAOS2018: Repair vs. either decompression alone or conservative treatment for rotator cuff tear

Five randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis comparing the outcomes of surgical repair and either subacromial decompression or conservative treatment. Meta-analysis of functional outcome scores demonstrated significantly favourable results of repair compared to both subacromial decompression alone or conservative treatment.
