Dynamic plate vs sliding hip screw or cannulated screws for intracapsular hip fracture
Int J Surg. 2018 Apr;52:30-34Four studies were included in this meta-analysis comparing outcomes after intracapsular hip fracture fixation between a dynamic locking plate or alternative implants, including sliding hip screws and multiple cannulated cancellous screws. The dynamic locking plate implant of interest was the Targon FN plate (Aesculap). Pooled analyses demonstrated significantly lower rates of nonunion and revision in the Targon FN group compared to other fixation options, but no significant differences between implants in the rates of osteonecrosis and cut-out.
