Physical Therapy is Similar to Home Exercise for Minimally Displaced Radial Head and Neck Fractures
J Bone Joint Surg Am. 2018 Apr 18;100(8):648-655.
Contributing Authors

KA Egol N Fisher A Lott SR Konda JM Haglin

51 patients with nondisplaced or minimally displaced fractures of the radial head or neck were randomized to receive formal physical therapy or home exercise. The purpose of this study was to determine whether formal physical therapy resulted in better DASH scores, numeric pain-rating scale, time to clinical healing, and range of motion compared to home exercise. Apart from the home exercise group having a significantly lower DASH score than the physical therapy group at 6 weeks, results indicated that DASH scores, pain scores, clinical healing time, and range of motion were not significantly different between groups.
