H Chaudhry

37 randomized and quasi-randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis which compared revision rate and mobility scores between intramedullary nails and sliding hip screws for intertrochanteric fracture fixation. Outcomes were subgroup analyzed based on the the use of either an older-generation nail or newer-generation nail. For older-generation nails versus sliding hip screws, revision rates were significantly greater with similar postoperative mobility scores. For newer-generation nails versus sliding hip screws, revision rates were similar with significantly greater postoperative mobility scores.
