Comparing ketamine plus atropine vs ketamine alone for pediatric procedural sedation
Am J Emerg Med. 2018 Jul;36(7):1280-1286. doi: 10.1016/j.ajem.2018.04.0105 studies were included in this meta-analysis which compared the rates of various measures, including vomiting, nausea, desaturation, hypersalivation, rash, tachycardia, agitation and muscle laryngospasm, between ketamine plus atropine and ketamine alone for pediatric procedural sedation. The incidence of hypersalivation was significantly lower among the ketamine plus atropine groups, while incidences of rash and tachycardia were significantly higher among ketamine plus atropine groups. All other measures demonstrated no significant differences between groups.
