OTA2018: Improved pain and reduced reoperation rate with TSA vs. HA for proximal humerus fractures
15 comparative studies were included in a meta-analysis to compare outcomes following treatment of acute, geriatric proximal humerus fractures between reverse shoulder arthroplasty and hemiarthroplasty. Only studies which completed a minimum of 6-month follow-up were included. Pooled analyses demonstrated significantly favourable results for RSA compared to HA for the outcomes of pain, clinical scores, range of motion in forward flexion, and incidence of reoperation.
