93 patients with chronic low back pain were randomized to an exercise therapy program administered via a mobile application (app group) or though standard written instructions (control group). Patients were assessed for change in pain severity on a numeric rating scale and disability on the Oswestry Disability Index after 12 weeks. Results demonstrated no significant difference between groups in the change in NRS pain scores, but a significantly greater reduction in ODI score in the App group compared to the control group.
