164 patients with anterior cruciate ligament injury were randomized to arthroscopic reconstruction with either a quadrupled semitendinosus graft or a bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) graft. On an average 8 years follow up, the semitendinosus (ST) graft used in ACL repair had similar outcomes to bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) graft. The BPTB graft was found to be associated with greater kneeling difficulties due to the donor site morbidity.
