Assessing the efficacy of additional steroid injection to percutaneous trigger finger release
J Hand Surg Eur Vol. 2019 May;44(4):372-378. doi: 10.1177/1753193418813771112 patients with trigger finger were randomized to percutaneous release of the A1 pulley with or without the addition of a steroid injection. Patients were assessed after 3 weeks and 3 months for outcome on a patient global impression of improvement scale, modified Quinnell grade, and pain on a visual analog scale. Results demonstrated significantly better scores in the group which received the additional steroid injection for PGI-I score at 3 weeks and VAS pain at 3 months.
