COA/ICORS2019: Operative superior to non-operative treatment for mid-third clavicle fractures
22 RCTs containing 2047 patients with mid-third clavicle fractures were included in this network meta-analysis examining the optimal treatment with regards to functional outcomes and non-union rate. MEDLINE, EMBASE and PUBMED were searched for relevant articles. Results revealed favourable DASH score, Constant scores, and non-union rate with surgical intervention compared to non-surgical intervention. Specifically, the anterior and antero-superior surgical techniques were the highest performing surgical interventions with regards to both functional outcomes and non-union rate.
