OTA 2019: Post-hoc analysis of operative vs nonoperative data on acute distal clavicle fractures

53 patients with acute distal clavicle fractures studied in a previous randomized controlled trial comparing operative and non-operative treatment were included in this analyses examining the relationship between demographic outcomes and Disability of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) scores. In the non-operative group, older patients and those who smoked displayed significantly worse DASH scores. In the operative group, females displayed significantly worse DASH scores compared to males.
