Kinesiotaping, balance exercise or both for postural control in healthy male amateur soccer players
J Sports Sci. 2019 Dec;37(24):2853-2862.Fifty-one healthy male amateur soccer players were randomized to receive 4 weeks of kinesiotaping plus balance exercises, placebo kinesiotaping plus balance exercises, or kinesiotaping only for the improvement of balance and postural control. The primary outcomes of interest included the Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT), the Unipedal Stance Test (UST) and the Toe Touch Test (TTT). Follow up was performed at 2 and 4 weeks after the initiation of treatment. Results revealed no significant differences in all outcomes between all groups. The kinesiotaping plus balance exercise group and the placebo kinesiotaping plus balance exercise group did, however, display significant improvements over time in the SEBT and UST outcomes.
