Augmentative plating superior to exchange nailing for nonunion of femoral shaft fractures after IMN
Orthop Surg. 2020 Feb;12(1):50-57.Five studies including 508 patients were included in this meta-analysis comparing augmentative plating and exchange nailing for the treatment of non-union femoral shaft fractures after intramedullary nailing. Outcomes of interest included the pooled union rate, union time, operative time, blood loss and complications rate. Results revealed all pooled outcomes to be significantly in favour of the augmentative plating group.
