DVT Prophylaxis in Total Knee Arthroplasty
J Arthroplasty. 2001 Apr;16(3):293-300.

A meta analysis was performed to determine the safety and efficacy of various venous thromboembolism prophylaxis agents in TKA. The results of fourteen trials (n =3482) utilizing bilateral venography to assess the presence of DVT among different treatment groups were used. The results showed that all agents considered except dextran and ASA protected significantly better against DVT than placebo.
