Low-level laser therapy accelerates clinical recovery in chronic Achilles tendinopathy

52 recreational athletes with chronic Achilles tendinopathy symptoms, on an eccentric exercise (EE) regimen, were randomized to receive an 8 week treatment with either a low-level laser therapy (LLLT) or a placebo LLLT. LLLT use in this study has been found to accelerate the clinical recovery in chronic Achilles tendinopathy when added to the EE regimen. The LLLT treatment achieved same results at 4 weeks as were attained in the placebo group only by 12 weeks.
