The use of an acellular allograft in rotator ruff repair provides positive results
Arthroscopy. 2012 Jan;28(1):8-15. Epub 2011 Oct 542 patients, presenting with 2-tendon rotator cuff tears >3cm, were randomized to an arthroscopic treatment with or without augmentation using acellular dermal matrix augmentation. Results from an average of 24 month follow-up indicate that both repair methods produced significant improvements from baseline. The augmented group produced significantly greater ASES and Constant scores, while also having a greater percentage of intact rotator cuffs (85%) compared to the non-augmented group (40%).
