TKA: Computer navigated and conventional procedures have comparable alignment results
J Bone Joint Surg Br. 2008 Aug;90(8):1039-44

80 patients with primary or secondary osteoarthritis of the knee, requiring total knee replacement, were randomized to receive either computer-assisted navigation of the implant or conventional procedure. The post-operative results indicated no differences in rotational alignment of the femoral and tibial components between computer navigated and conventional implant procedures. As well, the navigated group demonstrated a significantly reduced number of outliers.
