Mini-open repair of full-thickness rotator cuff injuries expedites recovery and QOL

73 patients with full-thickness tears of the rotator cuff were randomized to repair using a mini-open (scope mini-open) or open procedure. Follow-up at two years indicated there were no differences in long term functional and clinical outcomes. However, at short term 3 and 6 month follow-ups, the scope mini-open procedure provided superior rotator cuff specific quality of life scores.
