379 patients with osteoarthritis of the knee who had joint aspiration were randomized to receive a single injection of Gel-200 (new cross-linked hyaluronic acid product) or phosphate buffered saline (PBS) solution. Results from 13 week follow-up revealed that patients who received Gel-200 had significantly better pain scores and functions. Additionally, the two groups did not significantly differ in regards to adverse events.
