COA: Virtual reality arthroscopic knee training not significantly different than standard

14 orthopaedic residents were randomized to undergo a VR simulator training program or standard training program in order to determine the effectiveness of virtual reality arthroscopic knee training. The results of this study indicate that both residents who underwent the six week simulator training and residents who underwent standard training experienced a significant improvement in arthroscopic surgical skills, but the difference in improvement between teaching methods was not found to be significant.
