Computer assisted total knee arthroplasty provides better knee alignment
J Arthroplasty. 2009 Jun;24(4):560-9. Epub 2008 May 19115 patients undergoing elective total knee arthroplasty were randomized to receive either TKA using a conventional method or TKA using computer assistance (CAS). This study assessed if CAS provided superior alignment of the knee and improved function and quality of life. The results from this study indicated that CAS produced a greater number of patients with alignment within 3 degrees of neutral, and it resulted in improved functional and quality of life outcomes.
