Manual physical therapy in treatment of plantar heel pain
J Orthop Sports Phys Ther. 2009 Aug;39(8):573-85.

60 patients with primary planter heel pain were randomized to receive exercise therapy in combination with either manual therapy or electrophysical therapy. Moderate amount of evidence supporting the use of manual therapy in the treatment of plantar heel pain currently exists. The results of this study indicated that at 4 week and 6 month follow-up periods manual therapy provided superior results in terms of questionnaire reported disability (LEFS and FAAM), providing additional support for the use of manual therapy in the treatment of planter heel pain.
