Calcaneal fracture: Absorbable screws Vs metallic plates, fewer complications with screw

97 patients were randomized to compare the clinical outcomes and complications of two operative different treatments for calcaneal fractures. Patients received either metallic plates or absorbable screws, and were followed up at an average of 23 months. Results indicated that while both methods produced favourable outcomes in treating calcaneal fractures, the absorbable screws were associated with fewer complications.
