Single- and double-bundle ACLR result in similar knee function and stability outcomes

60 patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) disruption were randomised into two groups to compare the functional outcomes of two surgical techniques. Patients underwent either semitendinosus (ST) single-bundle (SB) ACL reconstruction (ACLR) or ST double-bundle (DB) ACLR. Following assessments over a 36 month period, results indicated that there were no significant differences in functionality and stability between DB ACLR and SB ACLR techniques.
