PRGF application following rotator cuff repair does not improve clinical outcome

69 patients were randomized to evaluate the effectiveness of plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) following arthroscopic repair of full-thickness rotator cuff tears. Patients received conventional surgery either with or with the application of PRGF after the arthroscopic procedure. The results at one year follow-up indicated that the administration of PRGF did not improve clinical outcome and tendon healing compared to conventional surgery without PRGF.
