Patellar tendon similar to hamstring graft in ACL reconstruction
Am J Sports Med. 2009 Oct;37(10):1946-57. Epub 2009 Aug 14.64 patients in the military with complete anterior cruciate ligament tears were randomized to receive ACL reconstruction either with bone-patellar tendon-bone (BTB) autograft or hamstring autograft (HS). This study aimed to compare these two procedures in a 3 year follow up. The results indicated that there was an increase in Tegner activity scores in the BTB group. There were no other significant differences between the two procedures.
