Achilles allograft and hamstring autograft comparable in clinical/radiographic outcomes
Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2011 May;19(5):816-22. doi: 10.1007/s00167-010-1388-6. Epub 2011 Feb 374 patients were randomized to compare the clinical and radiographic results of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction using two procedures: Autogenous hamstring tendon and free tendon Achilles autograft (fixed with EndoButton in the femoral tunnel and Intrafix in the tibial tunnel). The 2 year assessment revealed that the clinical and radiological outcomes between the two procedures were comparable.
