AAOS: Role of Vitamin D in Osteoarthritis Knee
64 knee osteoarthritis (OA) subjects with insufficient Vitamin D were randomized to be treated with Vitamin D supplementation or a placebo for 6 months to study its effect on progression of knee Osteoarthritis. Vitamin D significantly improved WOMAC scores in patients, especially in WOMAC function. However, no differences were found between Vitamin D group and control, in terms of pain and radiological features
