TKA: Non-weight-bearing passive flexion: Motion metrics improved with high flexion device

93 patients (186 knees) were randomized to compare the non-weight-bearing passive flexion (PF) of two devices for simultaneous bilateral total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Patients received a standard posterior stabilizing device on one knee and a high flexion posterior stabilizing device in the contra-lateral knee and were assessed after 12 months. Results indicated that there was a small (but significant) improvement in the motion metrics with the high flexion device in comparison to the standard device.
