Multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme beneficial to ankylosing spondylitis patients

100 patients were randomized to undergo a 3 week multi-disciplinary rehabilitation programme or receive usual treatment, in order to compare the impact of the methods on treating ankylosing spondylitis. Following evaluations over a 12 month period, results indicated that patients who underwent the 3 week rehabilitation programme experienced positive overall effects in disease activity, pain, function, and well-being, in comparison to those who received usual treatment.
