To study the cost effectiveness of The11, an injury preventive program, 479 adult male amateur soccer players aged 18 to 40 years were randomized to either 10 injury preventive exercises or just a regular warm up as a control. After calculation of overall health related costs during one playing season, the intervention program did not decrease the injury rate, but resulted in significantly less injury related costs.
