46 children with bilateral spastic cerebral palsy (CP) were studied to evaluate the long term effects of 3 year treatment with botulinum toxin lead A (BoNT-A) injections with hip abduction bracing, compared to usual care. In a 10 year mean follow up, BoNT-A injections with abduction bracing did not improve hip development or reduce the need for reconstructive or preventive surgery for hip displacement in children with bilateral spastic cerebral palsy.
