Evidence of effect of generic injury prevention programs in soccer remain inconclusive
Sports Med. 2013 Apr;43(4):257-65. doi: 10.1007/s40279-013-0026-0

Soccer boasts one of the highest injury rates in sports, and evidence for the efficacy of a training program to prevent injury remains insufficient. The present study systematically reviewed the current literature on such programs. Six studies (n=6099) met the inclusion criteria for consideration. The results of these studies suggest a preventative effect although not all studies reached statistical significance or were of high quality. Contradictory results may have been due to the wide variety of injuries and their aetiologies. Further higher-quality research is needed to determine the best training program to reduce injury incidence in soccer.
