Peri-prosthetic bone density after cemented versus trabecular fixation
Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery BR; 2011; 93(B); 1033-104455 patients requiring fixation of the acetabular component were randomized to receive either a cemented polyethylene or a monobloc trabecular metal component with a polyethylene articular surface. The results of the 2-year study indicated that there was no significant difference in regards to pain and function between the two groups at 2 year follow-up.
