ISAKOS: Long term functional results similar for Microfracture & mosaic plasty techniques
25 patients with cartilage defects in an articulating surface of the femur were randomized to receive treatment using either the microfracture technique or mosaic plasty technique, in order to determine which method provided between long term function and radiological results. Following assessments made between 4.9 and 11.4 years, long term functional outcomes were similar between the microfracture and mosaic plasty groups.
