67 patients undergoing unilateral total knee replacement (TKR) for osteoarthritis (OA) were randomized to receive treatment with synovectomy or without synovectomy. The results of the 26-week trial indicate that both groups displayed significant improvements in American Knee Society clinical scores and functional scores. Additionally, both groups displayed similar levels of serial inflammatory markers.
