MIS TKA: Similar pain and patellar tracking in medial parapatellar and midvastus approach
Clin Orthop Relat Res. 2013 May;471(5):1654-60. doi: 10.1007/s11999-012-2778-5. Epub 2013 Jan 3059 patients (60 knees) undergoing minimally invasive total knee arthroplasty (MIS-TKA) were randomized to surgery with either the medial parapatellar (MPP) or midvastus (MV) approach to compare the prevalence of anterior knee pain and patellar maltracking. At 12 month follow-up this trial found no difference in patellar maltracking (patellar tilting, and subluxation) or anterior knee pain between these MIS-TKA procedures.
