Cervical arthroplasty superior to ACDF for single-level cervical disc disease
J Clin Neurosci. 2013 Jul;20(7):970-8. doi: 10.1016/j.jocn.2012.03.046. Epub 2013 Jan 308 studies were selected to compare the safety and efficacy of anterior cervical arthroplasty and anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) in treatment of single-level cervical radiculopathy and myelopathy. Based on the pooled results, cervical arthroplasty indicated better visual analog scale (VAS) scores, overall success rates, neurological success rates, and fewer incidences of reoperations. No differences were seen between the two procedures in neck disability index (NDI) scores, number of adverse events, or radiological success rates.
