Anterior cervical fixation with dynamic or rigid plating not significantly different
Eur Spine J. 2014 Feb;23(2):298-304. doi: 10.1007/s00586-013-3039-3.In this systematic review, seven studies were included (4 RCTs and 3 nonrandomized/retrospective studies) comparing the clinical and radiological outcomes between anterior cervical fixation with dynamic plates or rigid plates. Additionally, 4 studies were included in a complications analysis for dynamic plates (2 [1 RCT, 1 prospective nonrandomized trial] from previous search of 7, and 2 additional studies [case series] from a separate search). Clinical and radiological outcomes were not significantly different overall. Complications were similarly not different overall.
