WCO-IOF: Kinetotherapy with usual care improves pain and function in patients with knee OA

62 patients with primitive bilateral knee osteoarthritis (stage I, II, or III) were randomized to undergo usual care with or without the addition of kinetotherapy. The purpose of this study was to determine whether this combined treatment yielded significant improvements in pain and functional outcomes. Results indicated that patients in both groups demonstrated significant improvements in pain and walking speed, and that the addition of kinetotherapy was associated with additional improvement in muscle strength. Effects were noted in the group receiving kinetotherapy both following treatment and at 6 month follow-up.
