68 randomized controlled trials examining the effect of various interventions - including insoles, external joint supports, training programs, stretching, protective head equipment, modified shoes, and injury prevention videos - for injury prevention were included in this review. Meta-analyses for these preventative interventions revealed that insoles, external joint supports and training programs had significant effects on injury rates, whereas stretching, protective head equipment, modified shoes and injury prevention videos had no significant effect on injury rates. Several included studies suffered from methodological weakness, and results should be interpreted with caution.
