121 network meta-analyses were included in this systematic review to examine the current reporting methodologies. Results revealed an overall inadequacy and heterogeneity in reporting essential components. 100 studies failed to describe the network and network geometry, and 52 and 96 studies failed to report number of RCTs and patients, respectively. 109 studies failed to report the direct and indirect evidence and 71 failed to report the direct, indirect, and mixed evidence. Overall, evaluation of the composite outcome revealed inadequate reporting in 119 of 121 studies.
