Better stability with double-bundle versus single bundle PCL reconstruction
Arthroscopy. 2014 Jun;30(6):695-700. doi: 10.1016/j.arthro.2014.02.035. Epub 2014 Apr 14Fifty patients with a grade II or III posterior cruciate ligament injury and scheduled for arthroscopic reconstruction were randomized to either single- or double-bundle reconstruction. Follow-up was conducted over 2 years postoperatively for side-to-side difference, Lysholm score, Tegner activity score, and International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) objective and subjective score. Results at final follow-up indicated significantly better stability with double-bundle reconstruction. IKDC objective and subjective scores were also better with double-bundle reconstruction.
