PRP injection therapy for chronic lateral epicondylar tendinopathy

Data from 6 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was systematically reviewed to investigate the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for the management of chronic lateral epicondylar tendinopathy, compared to placebo or other treatments. The search identified six randomized controlled trials of variable methodological quality (PEDro). The evidence presented in this review revealed that a beneficial effect of PRP was present in one high-quality study, while the remaining five studies did not establish significant differences in efficacy between PRP injections and control groups.
