Bone Joint J. 2014 Aug;96-B(8):1070-6.

51 adult patients with unilateral undisplaced fracture of the scaphoid were randomly assigned to receive either pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) bone growth stimulation in addition to conservative treatment or conservative treatment alone (placebo). Findings suggested significantly improved grip strength in the PEMF group compared to placebo in scaphoid fracture between PEMF and placebo groups, however no other significant differences between groups were found. As a result, the addition of PEMF does not appear to accelerate bone growth.
