No difference between uniform and weighted dosing of TXA for hemostasis after TKA
J Arthroplasty. 2014 Sep;29(9 Suppl):186-844 patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty were randomized to a single uniform 1g dose of tranexamic acid or a single weighted 20mg/kg dose of tranexamic acid. The purpose was to determine if there was a difference between the two dosing regimens for reducing blood loss and transfusion requirements. Results demonstrated that there were no significant differences in intraoperative blood loss, postoperative blood loss, total blood loss, or transfusion requirements.
