No benefit in DVT prevention when compression stockings used in addition to fondaparinux
J Bone Joint Surg Br. 2007 Jul;89(7):887-92856 patients that had undergone hip surgery were randomized to either receive a combination of fondaparinux and graduated compression stockings or just fondaparinux alone, as thromboprophylaxis. The results at the 42 day follow up period indicated that the use of compression stockings in addition to fondaparinux did not improve the effectiveness of anticoagulation in comparison to just the use of fondaparinux alone.
