9 publications comparing standard instrumentation with patient-specific instrumentation for total knee arthroplasty were included in this review and meta-analysis. This study aimed to compare both sets of instrumentation in terms of coronal and sagittal alignment, operative time, intraoperative blood loss, and cost. Findings reported patient-specific instrumentation demonstrated improved accuracy in femorotibial angle, but standard instrumentation established improved accuracy in hip-knee-ankle angle. There were no significant differences found in all other outcomes measured.
