Efficacy of conservative interventions to treat/prevent low back pain in young patients
Eur Spine J. 2014 Oct;23(10):2046-58.15 randomized controlled trials (4 RCTs on intervention and 11 RCTs on prevention) were included in this meta-analysis/systematic review to determine the effectiveness of conservative treatments to treat and prevent low back pain in children/adolescents. Pooled analysis revealed that patients who participated in an exercise program indicated pain intensity improvement in comparison to patients with no treatment. However, back education and promotion programs were found not to be an effective prevention approach for low back pain in patients under the age of 18.
