4 randomized controlled trials were included in this meta-analysis to investigate early versus delayed-mobilization after rotator cuff repair. Functional outcomes, tear recurrence, and shoulder range of motion were pooled. There were no significant differences in functional outcomes, relative risks of recurrent tears, or range of external rotation. There was a statistically significant but clinically unimportant improvement in forward elevation with early-motion rehabilitation.
